I grew up listening to fascinating stories about kali. And i have always shared those with you. Through my work.
When i told my very religious father that sadly I’m not someone who believes in religion or anything related to it, it was him who told me thats fine, because it’s your choice, no one should force anything on you!
I ended up picking up the stories as fantastic super hero stories and always reimagined them, and i always wondered how would she look, like wonder woman, thor, if we had kali in her red saree instead of a cape, as a vigilante, waiting in the darkness to protect the people. Kinda batman-ish.
The idea that she was not so very poised and she had no shame being her way was fascinating. She made her own rules, and she was kind in her own ways! She was like a glowing ball of fire.
Her favourite flower became my favourite flower! Her colour became mu favourite, she made me feel good in my dark skin! Now that’s called a fan!🙈( also I believed her to be bengali)
I have also imagined, like I’ve read in comics, her , fighting and saving young girls, and teaching them to remember that there is also a hidden kali in them. And they must unleash that side, whenever needed.
This piece specifically speaks my imagination. Her.. waiting quietly, to take care of the situation when it does out of hand!
