Just like the ever-green designs of Bengal, the women and their relationship with their jewelleries have always been very fascinating.
When my great grand mother travelled to India during partition alone with her 8 kids, all she had was a potli of gold jewelleries. She clung on to those and revived the whole family with that.
Those were not just jewelleries but also the very ground why we still exist and were not erased from planet earth.
I have so many more stories to tell, but today let’s just celebrate karnika and her unbound love for her jhumko.
P.s. special mention to one of my favourites, Manna dey, and the beautiful softness in his voice.
