My childhood comprises of some good memories that i try preserve.
I saw my sister dance, and dance her heart out and she shined like gold in her green Anarkali. She performed solo on stage and i felt so proud knowing how graceful she can be with all her expressions and postures.
Kathak was introduced to us at a very young age and i still remember our Ustaad ji and teacher swaying and emoting minute detailed and perfectly choreographed sets. I have not learned the dance well, but i took away alot of teachings when i saw how beautiful a person can become embracing all the intricate yet subtle facial expressions. I learnt so much “drama” in those classes, that i still find it coming out in my paintings.
I remember those classes, where i was just accompanying my sister and it was majorly her forte. And i wish we belonged to the “record everything era” to show you how talented she was and how she owned herself when she performed. I feel bad that many people, in their lives, in situations and circumstances are forced to distance themselves from thing that defined them so well♥️
