The concept of worshiping someone has always been an idea that bothers me. And specifically when it is women, who are labelled as Devi. Someone godly with some abstract super power has sometimes sounded synonymous to “inhuman” to me.
For example, when you are worshiped you are expected to be a certain kind, with no human complications like having the freedom to find your way through right and wrong.
To have the ability to choose or decide.
You are pushed and locked in a pedestal where no one can hear your cries for help.
A place where one can do it all and that too correctly.
No human can be correct as a whole. This is an abstract imagination. Now what matters is the level of hurt and disruption of peace one can cause for the wrongness of their nature.
This imposition of power is a burden.
Most days, we are just humans, miserable yet graceful, complicated yet smart.
Some wrong, some amazing, some masters in their fields and some, just a hopeless example of human error.
So here, meet us, we are the humans you meet everyday.
A part of your reality, of your world in all shape and kind, but respectfully so.
