I’m sure i don’t have to say anything about this to any bengali and movie lovers,
Those who haven’t seen yet, it’s a must watch!I don’t think twice before saying that this character of Aditi in the movie, drew my attention, for the aura and the subtle and extremely strong personality.
Every second she was on screen, Sharmila Tagore proved it.
I feel proud to call myself a bengali,to see such characters being portrayed from that time.
These little influences makes us what we are,
The subtle representation of empowerment is what makes my heart skip a beat, and it still surprises me,that how relevent this character is even in this time!
Few days back, someone from a web magazine asked me a good question-
What does women’s empowerment mean to you?
I didn’t think before replying, and it came out almost naturally, i typed the following-
A woman, who is self aware,a woman who is aware of what she needs, likes and has the power to choose for herself,a woman who doesn’t pull down other women etc, are empowered women if you ask me.
Replace woman with any damn gender in this sentence, and that is empowerment for me.
I’m not sure the amateur scribbler in me could write the feelings correctly or not,but when i look at this character, she was a shining example of an empowered woman is,!
